New weekend and Bank Holiday forensic medical examinations now available for those who have been sexually assaulted

New weekend and Bank Holiday forensic medical examinations now available for those who have been sexually assaulted

The Bridge is delighted to announce the launch of our new weekend and bank holiday self-referral service for Forensic Medical Examinations.

This means that anyone who has been raped or sexually assaulted can have a Forensic Medical Examination between 10am and 4pm on weekends and bank holidays without needing to speak to the police. The Bridge will store the samples in case the person decides they want to report to the police at a later date. This can allow them time and space to decide what they want to do next without worrying that evidence to support a criminal investigation will be lost....

Thank you from Dr Parrott

Dr Parrott has now retired from general practice. He sent us the message below to pass on to patients and colleagues:

"November 2016

Dear Friends,

I would like to thank everyone who was so kind and generous to me on my retirement on November 7th. I had many wonderful conversations, cards and gifts with comments I will never forget. Patients and colleagues will all be very much missed now that I have completely retired from medicine and become a member of the public. I have worked for 35 years in the NHS, 31 of them in Eastville, and the staff and patients have become almost part of my extended family. I have tried to help patients over the years and have enjoyed seeing them through the good and bad times, usually recovering stronger and wiser. Colleagues have been an immeasurable help and support to me over the years and I thank them...

Come and see Dr Parrott before he retires!

Open House for Dr Parrott's last day!

All patients who wish to say farwell to Dr Parrott before he retires are welcome to come and see him on Wednesday 2nd November between 9am and 12pm.

Don't forget that we are collecting messages for him as well - if you would like to submit one, please ask for a card from reception and return it as soon as possible. All messages will be collected into a presentation book.

New Opening Times from October 3rd 2016

New Opening Times from October 3rd 2016

From 3rd October, we will be opening the Health Centre doors and answering phones from 8am, and appointments will start at 8.30am. We hope this will be beneficial in increasing patient access to our services, particularly for parents and working patients. This also means that surgeries will finish slightly earlier in the day.

We are sad to announce that after many years of loyal service, Dr Parrott will be retiring from the Practice at the beginning of November.

We know that many of his patients will want to say goodbye and wish him well. With this in mind, we have arranged the following:

  • For any patient that wishes to write him a farewell message, we will be providing cards for this purpose at reception. Simply collect a card, write out your message and return it – all cards will then be collected together in a presentation book. Completed cards will need to be handed in by 21st October.
  • We will be collecting donations to put towards a retirement gift – if you would like to contribute to this reception have envelopes available.
  • There will be an open house on Dr Parrott’s final morning, during...

Important Information: changes to our appointment system from 16th May 2016

Changes to our appointment system from 16th May 2016

From 16th May we will be implementing a new system for appointment booking in order to try and deal more efficiently with patient needs.

From this date:

  • All requests for a same day appointment will require details about what the problem or need is. If it is something that only a GP can manage then a doctor will phone you back to discuss this and the doctor will decide whether an appointment is needed. To be fair to everyone, reception will not booking same day appointments for patients coming into the surgery – everyone will need to be phoned back by the doctor.

Please click here to read a letter from the GPs giving further detail on the changes and the reasons behind them.

We appreciate your patience whilst we get used to this new system.
