New weekend and Bank Holiday forensic medical examinations now available for those who have been sexually assaulted

The Bridge is delighted to announce the launch of our new weekend and bank holiday self-referral service for Forensic Medical Examinations.

This means that anyone who has been raped or sexually assaulted can have a Forensic Medical Examination between 10am and 4pm on weekends and bank holidays without needing to speak to the police. The Bridge will store the samples in case the person decides they want to report to the police at a later date. This can allow them time and space to decide what they want to do next without worrying that evidence to support a criminal investigation will be lost. We can also provide emergency contraception and arrange sexual health care.

To arrange a self-referral medical examination you can call us 24/7 on 0117 342 6999.
